Best of Pay Per Click Optimization and Search Engine Optimization

Pay Per Click is beneficial for driving immediate and relevant traffic to your website. A Pay Per click service would sustain traffic on an ongoing basis, or boost traffic during seasons relevant to your business. PPC is an Internet marketing strategy in which clients only pay for traffic they receive. Search Engine Optimization is a marketing strategy process of Improving the Traffic to a website from search engines by way of search result. Pay Per Click is basically an internet advertising tool used on search engines, advertising networks and content websites where advertisers only pay when a user clicks on an advertisement to visit the advertiser’s website.

PPC Optimization ensures that a Pay Per Click campaign is feasible and efficient and a PPC optimization company will review all aspects of the campaign. These aspects include campaign structure, Keywords and ad text, biding strategy and landing pages. With PPC Optimization, you are able to control and manage PPC and ensure that it is set-up properly.

Search Marketing or Pay per click (PPC) allows businesses to bid on targeted keywords on major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing in order to drive relevant traffic to their websites via click-through.

Search Engine Optimization, one is able to optimize your website for a number one search term but this is not of much use if traffic brought by a keyword is unable to convert. PPC allows you to find out which keywords convert before considering an SEO campaign. In addition, PPC optimization also makes finding which keywords work and which do not possible.

Another great advantage of combining PPC optimization and SEO is it offers greater speed. The combination also results in ones brand standing out on every search page and not just as the highest ranked increasing the exposure of a website. Effective pay per click campaigns begins with the account build, followed by landing page selection/creation and then the ongoing campaign optimization stage.

SEO is generally a free service, they require more time, effort and experience than a Pay Per Click campaign. Generating more traffic is the common goal of both campaigns and used together, a website can built a solid foundation on Search Engine Optimization and then incorporate pay per click advertising to target traffic towards it. The PPC optimization further enables successful conversion of traffic.

Meta Descriptions and Titles – Important for Optimize in SEO

Meta descriptions and titles are probably the most important thing for SEO within the HTML of your site. These two tags allow you to have some control over how search engines like Google display your website.

Meta tags” refer to specific HTML tags that appear in the area of the page.

See how the title and description tags appear within the page? They will only work if placed in that area. From the standpoint of someone viewing your website, the Meta description tag is completely invisible; it is used exclusively by search engines. The title tag can actually be seen by your viewers in the browser bar at the very top of your screen. There is also the Meta keywords tag, but this tag is ignored by most major search engines (Google included). Right now we are going to focus on the two most important Meta tags for SEO, the Meta description and title tags.

Google places great importance on Meta description and title tags when your website is being indexed. Taking advantage of these tags gives you a huge advantage over your competitors. Having worked with many small businesses as an SEO consultant, the vast majority of people do not make use of these tags. Clients pay me thousands of dollars to get their website on the first page of Google for specific keywords; sometimes all it takes is making good use of their Meta tags!

How to Optimize Meta Tags:-

You are going to be surprised at how simple this really is. First I want to introduce the concept of relevancy. You want your website to be as relevant as possible to the keywords you are targeting for Google searches. Keywords in certain areas of your website are given more weight than others. The most prominent area on your website for keywords is your Meta description and titles tags. So you want to make sure every single page on your site has these tags. Also every Meta description and title tag should be unique otherwise Google might flag your website for duplicate content. That being said, here are the guidelines I follow when optimizing Meta tags:

  • Make sure every single page on the website has unique Meta description and title tags.
  • Make sure every Meta title tag is no longer than 60 characters in length and every Meta description no longer than 160 characters in length.
  • Fill each Meta description and title tag with as many relevant keywords as possible.
  • Make each Meta description and title tag describe the page very closely. This means I don’t just stuff them full of keywords; I actually make sure they all make sense and are relevant to their page.

If you are using a WordPress blog, which is what I recommend to all my clients, you have the benefit of a massive library of plugins to help you with your Search Engine Optimization. In the old days we had to do all of this by hand by going into the code of a site and changing things around. Now we have great plugins to help us.

Search Engine Optimization plugin is free and is easy to download from the WordPress site. When you download it you will need to go into the options page and make some minor setup changes and then every time you make a post or create a page on your site you will be able to list the keywords, create a summary description of the post and make keyword rich titles.

The next essential plugin that you should have is called XML sitemaps. This plugin allows you to create a sitemap for your blog that is friendly to the search engines. Site maps are very important because these are the quickest way for Google to index your site and learn what all is available from you.

We are much more inclined to watch a video than we are to read pages and pages of an eBook. So when you have photos on your site you need this plugin. This plugin will allow you to attach what is called metadata to each of the photos that you put up on your site. So if you have a photo that is associated with a post that you have made the photo will get the title and keywords associated with it as well.

This will allow this photo to show up in Google Photos and allows your blog to have better Search Engine Optimization in general. The plugin is called SEO Friendly Images and it is free.

Does your Google page rank really affect your corporate blog?

Spend a few weeks reading about search engine optimization and you’ll likely become obsessed with your Google page rank score. If you’re not familiar with this, it is a system employed by Google that determines the popularity of a site and then assigns a ranking to it. Many factors are used in calculating popularity, but generally, the amount of links, the frequency of new content additions and the overall traffic a site receives will have a major bearing on their Google page rank.

However, if you are trying to take advantage of all of your promotional avenues, trying to raise your Google page rank is pretty important. So, here are some easy tips that can dramatically affect your page rank score and as such, where you are ranked in search results.

a. Increase the amount of links coming in to your site. These are called inbound links, but not just any links will work. You’ve got to have “quality” links that Google will approve of. This means that submitting to link directories or using black hat linking methods will not help you much. You need to increase the amount of real pages that link to you. You can do this the old fashioned way by contacting site owners to exchange links, or you can do it on your own by leaving your link in comment’s on blogs, sending out press releases and encouraging readers to link to your blog.

b. Page titles really do matter. This is a huge factor in your overall Google page rank. You’ll want to make sure that you are using keyword rich post titles for every blog that you write. For example, Company News is a bad title for a blog post. You would want to use something like Company Name – Keyword and then News. Try to experiment with different blog titles, making them keyword rich but still useful for your readers.

c. Using keywords in your posts. Every post you make needs to have keywords in it, but you don’t want to go overboard. Stick with mentioning your primary keywords two to three times, unless your posts are very long. The best density is around 3 to 4%.

You can keep track of your progress this way and see how well you are doing. It won’t happen overnight, but these tips will help you improve your overall page rank and as such, your search engine rankings, blog discover ability and the overall popularity of your site.

Ten AdSense tips to increase your income

Google AdSense - http://www.google.com/adsense - is fast becoming the preferred way for people to earn an income online. Whether you are a work-at-home mom trying to make a little extra cash or an Internet entrepreneur with hundreds of monetized websites, AdSense is truly the easiest way to earn money.

Simply sign up for a free account, grab your ad code and paste it in your site. But here’s the amazing thing - no matter how much money AdSense is making for you right now, a few simple tweaks can increase that amount considerably. And I should know, after learning about these tricks, I more than doubled my AdSense commissions!

The self-proclaimed AdSense gurus and experts are sharing this insider knowledge, for a fee.

You can learn all these secrets from them, as long as you buy their e-book, sign up for their seminar or purchase their newsletter. But I’m going to share all their AdSense tricks for free. Here they are:

1) Color code your ads to match your web site palette *exactly*. Don’t use frames around your ads. Instead, in the AdSense code generation interface, make sure you choose the same color as your page background for the ad frame and the ad background.

2) Try not to use the traditional horizontal banner style or leader board image ads because people are blind to them.

3) Use Google’s own AdSense optimization tips at https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html

4) Research competitive keywords using a keyword research tool such as Keyword Discovery at http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/?id=22487 or grab a list of the most popular keywords from various sources and use them in your web site pages where relevant. The more popular the keyword or phrase, the higher AdWords advertisers are generally willing to pay per click for it so the higher your commission on those clicks.

5) Incorporate the AdSense code into your page so that the ads look like a regular part of your site.

6) Use Google’s new 4 and 5 link ad units wherever possible. They seem to have a much higher Click Through Rate (CTR) than regular ad styles. You can view all the AdSense ad formats at https://www.google.com/adsense/adformats.

7) Place arrows or images next to your ads to draw attention to them. You can see two different versions of on this search engine article library page - http://www.searchenginecollege.com/articles/article-library.htm - at the top (where a pointing hand directs your eye to the ad) and the bottom where 3 images draw your attention to each of the three AdSense ads.

8) Use the full allowance of multiple AdSense ads on each of your pages - 3 regular AdSense ads, plus 1 link unit. Use careful placement of these ads so they blend into your site and don’t distract from your content.

9) Tailor your page content to a particular niche or focus. Page content that is tailored towards a specific theme is more likely to trigger AdWords ads that closely match the content and are therefore more likely to interest your visitors and inspire them to click.

10) Use custom Ad Channels for each of your ad placements, for example, “Top 5 Link Unit Blue Palette” or “Left Side Navigation Image Skyscraper” etc. Tweak, track and measure the success of each of these custom channels so you know what gives you the highest CTR. Some ad formats and colors will work better than others, but you won’t know which until you test, test and test some more!
